Luck has been in short supply of late, but today was different, to the tune of about £250/£300. I am in desperate need of a new kit jacket, and really fancied a Sheriffmuir, but they are not off the peg as they are not popular. Consequently they run from about £450 upwards. I have a wedding to attend in a couple of weeks and decided I would have to venture out today and arrange a hire jacket and waistcoat, hopefully a Sheriffmuir. But as I am a 46" chest I was really expecting to have to settle for a PC or Argyll. We set off for the a well known shop (me the wife and grandson). Access to the shop was not best suited to a child's pushchair so we headed for another kilt shop. On arrival the assistant mentioned they had a sale of ex-hire jackets. After a quick look through the rack of PC's and Argyll's I had my Sheriffmuir for the princely sum of £200 . There is not a mark on it. As they are apparently not a popular hire option I doubt it has been worn more than a couple of times.
