The more I´m diving into the world of Kilts & Tartans, the more I´m sometimes a little bit confused in details....

Am I right with, that the squares of a design are getting smaller with higher fabric weight?

As simplified example:

A fabric with 13oz has 100 threads on 10 cm and with 16oz 200 threads on 10 cm. Assuming the design with only 2 colors (blue & red....) each with 25 threads in the basic design, it would have a result of 4 rows (blue/red/blue/red) at 10 cm of 13oz-fabric and twice (8 rows) with the 16oz-fabric. Isn´t it?

Which possibilities are given to reach the same size of squares at both fabric-weights?
