My first wool kilt
So my first wool kilt has arrived, 8-yard medium weight 
I got it cheap as it is an x-hire kilt so came in at just under £100 ($124 today rate) so I was not expecting great things.
However, having gleaned great information on this forum I was interested to see how well my new joy was built, so here is a little tour 
1. It has been hemmed, and not well, the white line at the bottom tends to wander from front to back, so I am in the process of re-stitching it.
2. No selvedge edge at the bottom.
3. It does appear to have the interfacing material around the waist, but without undoing the lining can't see much, but it looks more like a belt sized piece.
4. Size-wise is it a little bit big, as a 44 true waist I am on the last hole of the strap, and the tape measure shows that to be true, so may need to adjust the straps and buckles at a later date.

Here are some more photos.
No apparent pattern matching
Lots of extra material, I guess it was made very large to allow for the hire market.
Nice buttonhole, can't see through it as it is a staggered hole.
I think overall I have a good kilt for the price, at a third of the cost I have to accept that it is not going to be as good as a custom made one, and it is comfortable and weighty, which I like.
Once I have finished the hem, and pressed it I will be wearing it with a smile.

How about trying moving the whole kilt upwards by about two possibly three inches? It depends a lot on how the kilt was made in the first place and where the intended kilt waist was supposed to be, but the waist height looks to me too low on you.

I must say that I am happy to get a wool kilt for the money, even with a few issues lol
