Real Highland style from 70 years ago - Braemar fashion

Anyone who knows Braemar as it is today will recognise all the loctions - as they have hardly changed at all.

A few of the characters and their style will be familiar to those of a certain age, as they were a common sight everywhere at one time, not just Braemar, although those who follow their sartorial lead today are usually only seen getting out of a Range Rover with rod or gun in its slip, or on a Highland Games field.

The third of our trio of stills shows a kiltie of the expected sort - but notice how he has an additional two pullovers under his waistcoat. I think we should revive that distictive style...

As to the second and third photo. On occasion I follow those fashions!

Its interesting, that there are no tartan curtains or tartan anywhere apart from a very few kilts.
