Kilts are over rated!!!!

We have another severe wind storm last night in Vancouver and I went out with friends in a kilt. Needless to say, I had to walk with my hands on my kilts to keep the wind from lifting it. Next time, I am just going to head out in a pair of jeans!!!

If you have this problem, even in the stiffest of breezes or wind, your kilt is not made right and/or is of too light of fabric.

The sporran keeps the kilt down in front and the sewn-down fell keeps it down in back.

Sure, your kilt may get blown about, but the boys will stay hidden...

Personally, I have found that in high wind, I prefer to have my trench coat or duster on. I don't really know if I would have that problem or not!

Quite so; but you do have the option of wearing jeans—that's what it means to have a mature attitude to wearing a kilt.

I agree, there are times the kilt is not the best choice. However since I do occasionally need to head out kilted in bad weather I find an inverness does a very nice job.

In that kind of wind, just stay home with a cup of tea!

I would say that there are some activities or some times when wearing a kilt would be ill advised, for example when riding a motorcycle I would not be comfortable in a kilt.
