Hey, all - long time lurker, first time poster.
This is my first "successful" homemade kilt - five yards of lighter weight worsted wool that I found at an antique store and made into a knife pleated kilt. Designed mostly after my Sport Kilt, but with more pleats, buckles instead of velcro and elastic, and the reversed first pleat.

I learned a fair bit while making this, and I'm happy enough with it that I've worn it out three days this week. My only big beef is how the pleats seem to bunch a bit right at the bottom of the fell.
There's more to learn, so I've just ordered The Art of Kiltmaking from the Scottish Tartans Museum to help with the next one.

I'm sure you'll be hearing more from me soon enough.
Thanks!
