Well, there's a reason I titled the post as "First successful kilt"
Before this one, I had a couple of attempts that I deemed unsuccessful for various reasons.

I've seen heavy wool military blankets in the thrift stores and thought about it a bit. Don't know if they'd be too heavy. If you go for it, I'd love to see the results.
