I guess it's all in personal opinion. I have a Maple Leaf tartan on order, but after that one, I'll be buying a black shadow from SWK. It looks sharp on CCGA (Grant), and is about as close to a solid colour as you can get without being solid.

CCGA and Wompet both had on solid (more or less) kilts last night, and they both looked fine.
