The Cameronians still live on in an affiliated regiment, the Witswatersrand Rifles of the South African Army:

This is especially clever: "It is often remarked that the Cape Town Highlanders are the only coastal Highlanders and Wits Rifles are the only highland Lowlanders."

On the Cameronians Regimental Museum's web site, you can watch videos of the 1968 Conventicle and Padre MacDonald's address to the regiment.

You're most welcome! A number of years ago I read an account of the 2nd Scottish Rifles (The 2nd Battalion did not adopt the Cameronian name or customs at amalgamation) in WWI; I highly recommend it.
