I wasn't trying to look like a costume, I was camping in the photo you provided and a Ghillie Shirt actually seems appropriate. But, I'm trying to a cultural sort of look, I took my kilt wearing influence from pictures of Jacobites and that's how I wear the kilt to this day. When I saw the shirt online, I went into my regular place and bought one.
Well, obviously the items you are wearing are real, and I didn't intend to imply that YOU were wearing a costume, just that those shirts are viewed by many as stereotypical Scottish attire, which has been mentioned in previous posts by others. You actually don't look all that bad to me for the photo shoot, but personally I don't understand your choice of dress shoes with white socks for that kind of rocky and dirty terrain.
P.S. Beautiful area BTW.
