Sounds like one of those Ryanair flights that flies from remote ex-military airfields. They do Torp (which they call Oslo) to Prestwick (which they call Glasgow) very cheaply, although since Freelander's destination is Dumfries, Prestwick will actually be more convenient for him than flying to Glasgow Airport.Freelander lives in southern Norway, and pays something like $46 return flight to Glasgow.
