Quite awhile ago, I posted an image of myself in a UK with a kilt pin. Hamish gave me (what I consider) to be some good advice...
"...besides, the Utilikilt is proudly American; why dress it up with a Scottish accessory, which it does not need? The same goes for the proposed sporran: Our Utilikilts have wonderous pockets - you simply do not need a sporran! I am sorry but, as I see it, adding these accessories gives me the impression that you are trying to tell people that, in spite of its looks, you are actually wearing a KILT!"
Even though he was referring specifically to a Utilikilt, I think the advice applies quite well to any non-traditional style kilt.
That Freedom Kilt looks great just the way it is!
