Before John pointed out that the stripe was on the outer apron, was gonna guess it was done like Jeff used to do his Pittsburgh Kilts multi color pleats.
Thanks for the pics, had no clue they were out there.

That was how I'd doped out the equation when I was pondering on it. Have an "inset pleat" in red, against the blue body of the kilt, kind of like what the FHCAG did with her little skimpy cheerleader's thing.
Umm, not that I notice FHCAG's except to admire their skill with needle and thread.

I loved the music on their website. Can't get enough of the Marine's Hymn on the pipes.

They are nice looking uniforms, and I know the solid blue with bloodstripe evokes the dress blues, but I just can't help thinking they would look that much better with Leatherneck tartan kilts ...

I agree. But then, I never really thought the bright blue trousers looked right with the dress uniform either.

I'd agree with you---except for the blood stripe. Somehow the whole kit looked better when I'd earned that. (And I'm speaking strictly of aesthetics, not "pride of accomplishment"---although there was that too.)
