I remembered that just as I was re-checking this thread.
You already know about Matt's fine handiwork.
Since Grant counts best in base nine, and that's nine Newsomes mentioned already, I'll bow out now.

I am very excited as it's my first Newsome. I've heard nothing but good things about his work and from the pics I've seen, they really are "works of art." It's a gift from the wife for Christmas and should come around the first of December I believe. Should be some nice kilted Christmas pics too!

    Another order

With Matt’s special offer I nabbed the St. Patrick tartan. It was an impulse buy. I had ordered with Matt a box pleat in the Columba tartan earlier in the summer. The Columba tartan was created by Peter MacDonald in 1997 to commemorate the 1400th anniversary of St. Columba’s death.

I couldn’t resist the opportunity to have the tartans of the Celtic Saint of Ireland, Patrick and the Celtic Saint of Scotland, Columba.

Just before seeing Matt’s web offer, I received an email from the genealogist of the Clan MacCallum Malcolm Society that my DNA sample showed an ancestral match more to an Irish origin than the Scots! A confirmation in making the order.

    Cool Another first

I nabbed Matt's American Bicentennial tartan. I'm having a fly plaid hemmed from the cloth remaining. This will be my first box pleat and the first from Matt. Won't say that I can't wait, but I do look forward to it.

Now I'm wondering what would be a good color hose to match that. Of course, if I wear it mostly in the summer, maybe that's a moot point.
