There you go,Gryphon noir, all of this is C. G. Jung stuff from deep in our collective monkey/lizzard brain... Reach deep into your savage monkey soul and grow an orangatan beard... and wear a kilt.
I'm really starting to like the hawaiian shirt/solid color kilt idea though. I could start growing pineapples in the back yard again... Roast a pig now and then. Oh, and have that scuzzy un-shaven look going on. Anybody got a volcano?

Interestingly enough I just found this thread, and I started re-growing my beard back around New Years. I had a goatee and 'stash from about 1996 till 2003 when I shaved it off looking for a change. I got carded more then than I did when I was in my twenties!

I used to wear a goatee, but the only time I looked good with such was when I was wearing my kilt. Since I don't get to wear the kilt as often as I like, off came the goatee. (Ah luikit as ra de'il, Ah deed.)

James I almost felt your pain, though add about five years to the ages and we'd be about right. Though it seems to have slowed down the last few years and now it's more of a Jack Nicholson then your Sean Connery.

As for beards, we couldn't have any facial hair in high school and of course nothing in the army is allowed. Other then those times I've had facial hair of some kind. In my skinnier years I was more of a Circle Beard man with long sideburns, but in the last few years I've pretty much looked like this 24-7

Just for the record, I'm still mainly shaving with a beard trimmer on the closes possible setting. I did grow a short, full beard earlier this year, but trimmed it off.

When I need to, I shave with a regular razor, and it's all working out fine... Thankfully there are no beard pictures.

Yep, the beard compliments a kilt well (see avatar).

In one of these threads, and maybe even in this thread, we were talking about having a matching beard and goat hair sporran... Guess you could put little eyes on your sporran and have a full mask sporran of yourself...

That would be a little conceited, wouldn't it?

Of course, that's why we were talking about it... On the other hand, it might be frugal if you grow a beard twice as long as you want it, then chop the bottom half off to use on the sporran...
