Mac is correct, I think. I really liked the series--at least the ones I got to see beforr BBC-America took it off the air--but it was a little weak in writing.
The books will never receive a Nobel for literature, but I like them a lot. Ole Hamish is a very interesting character, and his little village and the messes he gets into keep things interesting.
I'd buy one of the dvd 's.
