Congrats. I think it's awesome how the whole Kilt experience is bringing you closer together.

The power, indeed!
I'm a bit embarassed to admit this (I know I shouldn't be, but you know what I mean), but for a long time I was suffering from some severe anxieties. It was to the point where I didn't really want to see even the closest/oldest of friends because I just panicked constantly. Even my online contact dwindled to nothing. I've always been more of an introvert and my hubby is definitely not, but that was too extreme. I'm tired of missing out. I told him if he got a kilt, I'd definitely be interested in going out for a drink or dressing up for a nice occasion. It would be something interesting and fun to help me focus on something other than anxieties and fears. When I found this board and told him about the kilt night section, I told him how awesome that would be to meet some of the members and get out/have fun and possibly make some new friends. Instead of me freaking out about meeting people, there'd automatically be something both parties could talk about and help get me talking.
When we went to the North Texas Irish Festival, I knew of two people I could spot or find. Both times, I was a little nervous about approaching them and introducing myself but I did it. I'm sure I stammered a lot and was a bit nervous, but it amazed me how much easier it was all because I wanted to meet others who were interested in kilts and other things like that.
Now, I wonder if I'm driving my husband nuts when I tell him "Ooh! There's something going on __ weekend... can we go? Will you wear your kilt?"
(of course, I'm sure it wasn't necessarily the fact that it was a kilt that helped, but something I was very interested in and saw potential to enjoy more than just "oh look, my husband is wearing it around the house today", you know?)

Now, if I can get the rest of my generation to wear them, we're in business.

It would be nice if we can get every male in all generations to wear kilts.
