I was actually thinking about buying another Nightstalker and ripping all the stitching out to make my own belted plaid.

If that's possible, then there's an option. I don't really know much about the construction of the standards, but I have read about the econimies being uncut at the fell, or made from a solid strech of fabric when un-seamed... I ain't touching mine...
