Really? I find that mine breathes really well. That's why I always wear it to festivals- people think I'm wearing it as a costume, but I wear it because it's very functional. Unless I'm at a Renaissance Scots event. Then I wear it as part of my costume.

Depends how hard you dance. If I wear a normal t-shirt for Ceroc, for example, I need to take 2 or 3 extras to change into during the course of an evening's dancing.

Last weekend (2008.07.26) was the Warwick Folk Festival and I wore the Jacobite shirt for the last ceilidh of the festival. By the time I got home I could wring the sweat out of both the under-shirt and the Jacobite shirt. It was a very hot and muggy evening and I'm not sedate dancer

OK. Muggy is something I have little experience. I live in a desert climate. It was 102 F today, with something like 5% humidity so I really have no idea how I would react to a humid climate in mine. I suspect not good- most of my family live in Ohio, and on the rare occasions that I go to visit, I spend a week congested and wet. So now that you mention muggy, I see your point!

I have lived in a humid climate (Corpus Christi, Baton Rouge, and Houston) since 1967. I've learned that wearing a T-shirt under an outer shirt is the best comfort. But, the loose-fitting "jacobite"/pirate/swashbuckler shirt seems to be quite breezy and appropriate without an undie. I still ain't gonna wear one.
