That's interesting you should mention that M78...I've been wearing the controversial dragon-skin body armor by Pinnacle everyday for two years (22kg) with additional load bearing vest (14kg with ammo and med-kit) total weight with weapons (38kg)

The only other pic I have that clearly shows the dragon-skin has weapons, so no posting allowed...I've since moved to using the MSA Paraclete...Sorry, no pics, but you're right stairs will drive the point home.

P.S. Do you have a Dublin link?

Totally off subject, but that Dragon Skin is pretty amazing stuff. Back on the subject, I need to incorperate box jumps. I really hate them though! My coach does them enough where he can use the tailgate of my truck as a box. And before anyone asks, no it is not lowered. I don't have the guts to try that yet. IU have seen what happens when box jumps go wrong. Ouch!

This is turning out to be a great thread.

I read up on plyometrics, and I can easily add those into my workout. As far as a weighted vest, I'd love to post pics of my 70lbs IBA with all the trimmings, but just like Chase they all have my M4 across my chest. However, there is a great set of stairs just outside the gym door. Either running or jumping up and down that should work.

I also went to Lowes to price some chain and pipe for my homemade weights. The only thing I haven't found so far is the ring. Any suggestions?

Well, I think I'm off to a good start. Sat and Sun are my off days, so tomorrow I think I'll bump the bench up to 265. We'll see what happens then. Thanks for the help.

Not totally James, I was referring to the benefits of wearing the armor and having to climb stairs as a good work out...I'm thinking of incorporating just the armor into my leg routine when I get home, and not having to purchase a weighted vest.

    Chase,

I didn't mean you were off subject. I was. I watched a show about advances in body armor and it showed the Dragon Skin take a grenade, like a body covering it in a fox hole, without penetration. Like I said, it is amazing stuff. I love how we throwers can use anything to train. One guy uses chicken feed, you use your work gear, I know guys who use tires. A real creative bunch! I would suggest you go find a couple stones as well. Try to find a Braemar of about 22 to 24 pounds, an open stone of 16 to 20 pounds and a a stone about 12 pounds. The really light stone lets you focus on form without taking the toll of the bigger stones. I usually use a light stone to warm up.

    And to those in uniform,

    Please take care!
