Thanks again for the replies, there's only one more thing; the suit jacket is a little long where my belt won't show, and I have to leave my bottom button undone. Would that be alright? I'm used to wearing a kilt casually now, but this is different.

    Saw your look tonight...

A friend attended our Burns Dinner tonight in a borrowed kilt, no sporran, and a blue blazer. He looked fine and got several compliments on the kilt, which he passed on to his friend, the loaner.
Unless the people you are dining with are insufferably stuffy, you will look great and have a good time. This was my first Burns Night (new thread? "Confessions of a Burns Night Virgin"?) and I had a great time. Saw people I had no idea were active in Scottish Heritage and got to reconnect with folks from festivals this past summer.
Go kilted and have a good time!

Wise words there. Another option for you to consider would be a black, or, very dark blue pullover--the look can be very effective. Have fun.

I'd say anyone who woul even make a comment about wearing a kilt to a Burns Supper, doesn't actually understand what a Burns Supper is :P

We're having one down at the local pub this monday (I have seen no others, though didn't look THAT hard) and I fully intend to go kilted. Everyone I know expects me too as well :P
