So yeah, I suppose if someone matured their whisky in plastic or glass containers, it could be clear. Although I'm not sure why they'd do that, since the wood barrels are part of what gives whisky its character.

At any rate, it's clear (pun intended) that the drink in his hand is not the same as what's shown in the bottle to the right.

And I know it's not Romulan Ale, either, since that stuff is blue!
