I wouldn't dream of picking apart that! It looks great.
But... it wouldn't be suitable for wear at a period Civil War event. My comments were ONLY directed at photos of people apparently attending Civil War events in a mix of Civil War period dress and modern Highland Dress.
My points were of two natures 1) "fashion" in the ordinary sense of choosing colours which coordinate and 2) the desire, when dressed in the dress of a certain period, to keep anachronisms at a minimum.
Obviously the Confederate Memorial Tartan itself, lovely though it is, is a complete anachronism in mid-19th century dress. It's why I would wear a tartan that 1) existed at that time and 2) coordinated with a grey shell jacket. Black Watch would be my choice! It would look great with a grey jacket.
