    Just a correction-
    Zaire is not the name of the country anymore. Its now Congo after Kabila gave Mabutu Sazaseko the heave-ho. I lived for 6 years in Sub-Saharan Africa and never saw anything like this....TOTALLY COOL THOUGH!

    Thanks for the correction. I went back to check my facts and les sapeurs are apparently in the Republic of the Congo, not the Democratic Republic of the Congo (formerly Zaire).

    I'm lovin' it.

    FWIW, I think they look pretty grand. The contrast of the bright colours and dark skin is quite striking to my eyes. I'm particularly fond of the more traditional kilt and hose combination. I must agree with those applauding these gentlemen for their proliferation of the kilt. I can only hope for the day I will see a street scene like that over here in the USofA.

    All scenes like this start with a group of people talking about it. Here we are. Now we just need to make sure we look as good in out kilts as these guys do. And people will take notice.
