So I've worn my kilt around a bit this week to break it in and see how everything 'hung'...
I'm pleased to announce that all tests were a go and the Affliction tee tucked in with wool hiking socks scrunched down and hiking boots seemed to be a hit (even among the only lady that mattered, my lovely GF) I even topped it off with my guiness military style cap, I have to say that I was rocking the dapperness pretty hardcore!
Thanks for all your advice guys! I'll post a pic when I get home later today...or tomorrow...or...well sometime.
Cheers lads!!!

Good to hear. And pleasing your GF and yourself is really all it's about. Looking forward to the pics. I've been rockin' my Chuck Taylors with my kilts almost exclusively for casual wear lately. Comfortable and stylish.

Yeah. My dad and I took a tour of civil war battle fields last July. We spent the 4th in Gettysburg, and then drove to as many others as we could in three days' time. I got an Irish Brigade pin there- you see it on my kilt. It's a heavy brass thing. You can also see my grandfather's family crest badge under the Erin pin.

***Not to hijack the thread***
I was traveling to VA on New Year's Day '04 and decided on a detour. Even though the park was technically closed, I still saw alot of the battlefield. Climbed the pictured tower, also.
I saw Gettysburg that October as I visited my brother for the Fallen Firefighters Memorial. I have an Irish Brigade T-shirt from one of the stores in town.
I lived in Mechanicsville, so I was VERY close to a large number of CW battlefields. Wore my kilt to most too!
Back on topic... I only wear my kilts "casually". The dressiest I've ever been kilted is a polo. I usually roll/fold down my socks, as opposed to scrunching. I also tuck my T's.
