Sauce for the goose
I was down at the post office wearing my military Argyle and Sutherland kilt ( mmm, toastie) when an older woman alongside me said "Oh, you do look nice. What tartan is that?"
I told her and she replied "I thought so. My husband was in the Argyles". She then went on: "After he died I used to wear his kilt quite a lot"
We chatted some more and then parted.
Now this is the 3rd occasion when a woman has told me that she has worn her late husband's kilt. Kinda odd I thought. The military kilt is very heavy and all men's kilts are made for our shape. While one can appreciate not letting a good kilt linger in the cupboard, I can honestly say I have never heard a woman say "Oh my husband had a lovely 3 piece suit. I often used to wear it when he passed on".
I guess to these women it was just a nice tartan skirt ( sorry guys)
