Is there nothing your wife could dress in that would make you say "Really, you're going out in that?" I think you've actually figured it out here. It's the old "is it a costume or is it clothing" debate. You and I see it as clothing. My wife sees it as a costume. She'll get over it eventually.

I guess what actually set me off though, is if the traditional guys are talking about the proper number of buttons to wear on a certain kind of vest, I don't bust in and say"You're all a bunch of idiots, just wear a hoodie." I expect them to not bust into a "what kind of boots/socks" thread and call us a bunch of crossdressers. I generally agree with Jay on most stuff, but it seems to me like that's what he did here.

I'm happy for whoever doesn't have the problem. But someone without the problem coming in here and judging our relationships is like someone with no children who thinks they are an expert at raising them. Or these 110 lbs guys with a hummingbird's metabolism that can eat all day long telling me I have no self control and I should hit a salad bar. They should not be so quick to judge stuff they know nothing about.

Have Fun,

I see your point. Problem is, these guys also have wives. We have all had some sort of struggle with our wives. Therefore, we all have something to contribute to the conversation. I am one of the lucky ones who's wife not only likes the kilt, but insists that I wear it whenever possible. However, she doesn't like the idea of primitive camping, which I love. She compromises with me on that by letting me go by myself, and sometimes even participating. Getting her out of the KOA Kamper Kabins and into the forest was at first a struggle. Just because she has no issue with kilt wearing does not mean we haven't had similar issues over other things.
